Two couples in Japan

Mrs. Yamamoto was born with a problem in her right leg that make it difficult for her to walk, and she has been using crutches all of her life. When she was 28 years old, her family arranged a marriage with Mr. Yamamoto, who also has a problem in his leg that forces him to use crutches as well. Mrs. Yamamoto has a sister called Mrs. Sumikawa who is her neighbor. She is half deaf and in an arranged marriage with Mr. Sumikawa who is completely deaf. They where all born in Kabe a few years after the atomic bomb in 1942. This series includes portraits of them and the interiors of their houses.
